I’m Carolyn Yates, an independent digital copywriter/content consultant based in Manchester, and I started Content by Carolyn to combine my passion for supporting good causes with my experience in marketing to do the type of work I enjoy most – creating content that makes a difference.
I have over a decade of experience in digital marketing, including four years in the voluntary sector, and I’ve written for both B2B and B2C audiences (although I believe that all content should be H2H – human-to-human!).
I specialise in creating website content that’s optimised for visitors and search engines, combining my understanding of user behaviour and search engine optimisation (SEO) with professional quality writing.
I’m especially good at (and really enjoy):

- bringing organisations’ stories to life.

I’ll admit that I can be a bit of a perfectionist, but that’s OK because my attention to detail is one of the main reasons why people want to work with me!
Having worked in the voluntary sector, I’ve seen first-hand the difference that compelling content can make to charities’ objectives; that’s why my goal is to share my knowledge with as many charities as possible. As well as working with clients on a consultancy basis, I aim to donate at least one day a month of my time to helping small/newly established charities with pro bono projects.
